The Awareness to Action Pathway: Disrupt Unhelpful Patterns and Unlock Your True Potential for Joy, Connection and Success
We were taught to tie our shoes, solve math problems, and drive—but never how to handle uncomfortable emotions, have tough conversations, set boundaries or manage the ups and downs of work and life.
Here’s the thing, most of us are navigating adulthood without the essential skills needed to accomplish our goals, experience well-being and truly thrive. This missing toolkit fuels overwhelm, stress and struggle at work and home—leaving us avoiding change, battling poor communication, feeling stuck and more.
As a mental health therapist, author, business owner, and mother of four adult children, I've seen how lacking these skills impacts us all. My own transformation from an anxious, reactive person to someone who navigates challenges with calm, confidence and connection has inspired countless others to do the same. I've taught these skills to attorneys, parents, educators, volunteers and more—and witnessed the profound shifts they make when empowered with the right tools.
In my keynote, I provide practical, evidence-based strategies to help you be mentally, emotionally, and relationally well—transforming your workspaces, homes and lives. It’s never too late to learn these skills! Remember, life’s most beautiful moments often come from leaning into the uncomfortable so let’s equip you with the tools to thrive, no matter what life throws your way.
Keynote Takeaways:
Close the Knowing-Doing Gap – Learn simple, practical strategies to turn awareness into action for real, lasting change.
Use Discomfort to Your Advantage – Shift your mindset to see discomfort as a tool for growth rather than something to avoid.
Build Resilience in Uncertain Times – Develop skills to navigate stress, change, and setbacks with confidence.
Improve Communication & Collaboration – Strengthen relationships and trust by learning how to give and receive feedback effectively.
Create a Culture of Growth – Foster adaptability and continuous learning to unlock your team's full potential.
Helping the Helpers: Tools for Thriving While Supporting Others
My workshop is an extended version of my keynote (see above) that includes the following additional takeaways:
Understand the Impact of Stress and Trauma on Well-Being - Learn how toxic stress and secondary trauma affect emotional, physical and relational health from a trauma therapist’s perspective - and how this shows up in professional caregiving roles (e.g., educators, clinicians, union reps, advocates, etc.).
Build Your Personal Awareness to Action Pathway - Identify your own unhelpful thoughts, emotional responses and behavioral patterns - and begin replacing them with aligned, skillful responses that support your goals and well-being.
Develop Your Emotional Resilience Toolkit - Practice evidence-based, trauma-informed strategies that foster self-regulation, boundary-setting and stress recovery - tools you can use in real-time, even on your hardest days.
Use Discomfort as a Growth Signal, Not a Stop Sign - Reframe internal resistance and emotional discomfort as an invitation to grow, rather than something to avoid - so you can lean into meaningful change without burning out.
Strengthen Your Capacity to Support Others Without Self-Abandoning - Learn how to show up as a calm, grounded presence for others without taking on what’s not yours - and how to return to center when you feel overwhelmed.
Transform Insight into Daily Practice - Leave with a personalized wellness plan and micro-strategies you can apply in your work and life to increase calm, clarity, confidence and connection.
Foster a Culture of Care Without Compromise - Discover how supporting your own wellness isn’t a luxury - t’s a leadership move. Learn how caring for yourself models healthier norms and positively influences your workplace and community culture.
